Terms of use

• You pay once and get a licence to use Clipzen for as long as you like, with every future upgrade included.
• A licence covers one computer at a time. You can move it to another computer whenever you need to.
• The clips you make are yours.
• You're responsible for having the right to use the videos you put into Clipzen.
• You get a full refund within 14 days of buying, or within 24 hours of activating the app if that comes first.
• None of this takes away your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Clipzen costs $99 (USD), paid once. Depending on where you live, VAT or sales tax is added at checkout.

Clipzen is sold through Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar is the seller on your order: it takes your payment, charges and pays the tax, and issues your invoice. Polar's own terms apply to the payment itself. These terms cover your licence and your use of Clipzen.

After you pay, you receive your licence key by email. There is no subscription, and nothing renews.

When you buy Clipzen, we give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use the app, for as long as you like, on one computer at a time. The licence is for you: you can't share, resell or rent it, or give your key to someone else.

To move Clipzen to another computer, enter your licence key there. It moves in one click, as often as you need, and the previous computer stops being able to make clips.

You get every future upgrade to Clipzen at no extra cost.

Clipzen needs an internet connection to activate, to download its AI models on first run, and to check your licence now and then. Once activated, it keeps working offline for 48 hours of use (time with the app open). After that it opens in read-only mode until it can check in again. Your clips and library stay on your computer the whole time.

What the licence check sends is described in the privacy policy.

You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying, no reason needed. Activating Clipzen shortens that window to 24 hours from activation, or until the 14 days run out if that comes sooner. The app asks you to confirm this before it activates.

You get back everything you paid, tax included. When the refund goes through, your licence is deactivated. The full details are in the refund policy.

Clipzen runs on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later) with macOS 11 or later, and on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Intel Macs are not supported. The built-in AI model needs at least an Apple Silicon Mac with 16 GB of memory, or a Windows PC with 16 GB of RAM and a dedicated graphics card with at least 8 GB of VRAM. Please check your computer against the requirements on this site before you buy. If Clipzen doesn't run on it, ask for a refund within the refund window.

Everything you make with Clipzen belongs to you. We claim no rights over your videos, transcripts or clips, and they never reach us.

You're responsible for the videos you put into Clipzen. Only use recordings you own or have permission to use, and follow the terms of any site you download from. Clipzen is a tool; what you make and publish with it is up to you.

You can choose to use OpenAI for one step of the process, with your own OpenAI API key. That use is between you and OpenAI: its terms and prices apply, and you pay OpenAI directly. Clipzen adds no fee. We don't control OpenAI's service and aren't responsible for its availability, its prices or its results.

• Share, sell or publish your licence key, or use one licence on more than one computer at a time.
• Get around the licence check, or change the app to remove it.
• Copy, modify or redistribute the app, or decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows you to.
• Use Clipzen to break the law or infringe anyone else's rights.

If you break these terms in a serious way, we may deactivate your licence. We'll tell you why first, and give you a chance to fix it where that's possible.

Clipzen includes open-source software and AI models, such as whisper.cpp, llama.cpp and the Qwen model, and ships with music, footage and fonts made by others. Each is used under its own licence, and those licences apply to those parts.

Clipzen will do what this site says it does, and we'll fix problems that stop it from doing so. As a consumer, you also have legal rights when digital content doesn't work as described, and nothing in these terms limits them.

Beyond that, we can't promise that Clipzen will never have a bug, that the AI will always pick the moments you would, or that every video site will keep allowing downloads.

Where the law allows, our total liability to you for anything related to Clipzen is limited to what you paid for it. We're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee, or for lost files you didn't back up.

This doesn't limit our liability for anything the law doesn't let us limit, such as harm caused on purpose or through gross negligence.

You're welcome to read this site and share it. Please don't try to break it, scrape it at volume, or send fake or abusive messages through its forms. The Clipzen name, logo and the contents of this site are ours; the fonts and software used to build it belong to their authors.

We may update these terms, and the date above will change when we do. The terms you agreed to when you bought your licence keep applying to that purchase, unless a change is only in your favour.

If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of the country you live in, including your right to bring a dispute before the courts there.
