1 Summary
- You earn 25% to 35% of every sale you refer, once per sale, on what the customer paid before tax.
- Your audience gets 10% off with your code. Your link counts for 60 days after a click.
- Each commission waits until the buyer's refund window has closed, and is paid on the 1st of the following month once you have $50 ready.
- Promote Clipzen anywhere, but keep the Clipzen name out of your search ads, domains and handles, and always say that you earn a commission.
- You get a free Clipzen licence while you're a partner.
- You can close your account at any time.
2 Joining the program
To join, apply in the partner dashboard at partners.clipzen.net with your name, your email address, a password, the rough size of your audience and how you plan to promote Clipzen. You must be at least 18, or of legal age where you live if that's older.
We read every application ourselves, usually within 2 business days, and decide at our discretion. If we decline, you can apply again after 30 days. If we sent you an invite link, your account is approved as soon as you create it.
One account per person. Keep your details accurate, and keep your password and recovery code to yourself: you're responsible for what happens in your account.
By applying, you accept these terms. They apply from the day you're approved until your account is closed.
3 Your link and code
Once you're approved, your dashboard gives you:
- A referral link: clipzen.net/?via= followed by your code. You can also create up to 100 campaign links, one for each video, post or ad, to see which ones bring sales.
- A discount code, made of your code and the discount, for example JANE10. It takes 10% off a Clipzen licence, once per order, and doesn't expire.
Share them as they are, and don't present them as an official Clipzen offer.
4 Which sales are yours
A sale is credited to you when a customer buys Clipzen:
- with your discount code, whenever they buy and on any device, even if another partner's link brought them; or
- without a code, within 60 days of last clicking your link, in the same browser. If they clicked several partners' links, the last one counts.
Only sales made while your account is approved count. These earn nothing: purchases made by you or with your email address, orders with a 100% discount, and sales that break these terms.
Your link works through a cookie in the buyer's browser. If they block or clear it, or buy on another device without your code, we can't see that you referred them. Our records of each order decide which sales are yours.
5 Commission
Each referred sale earns a commission once. Clipzen is a one-time purchase, so nothing recurs.
Commission is a percentage of what the customer paid after any discount and before tax, less any amount refunded. VAT and sales tax are never part of it. It's calculated in US dollars and rounded to the cent.
For example, on a $99 sale through your link you earn $24.75 at 25%, $29.70 at 30% or $34.65 at 35%. With your 10% code, the customer pays $89.10 and you earn $22.28, $26.73 or $31.19.
6 Commission tiers
Your rate depends on how many of your sales become ready (see the next section) in the same calendar month, counted in UTC:
- Base: 25%, from the first sale.
- Boost: 30%, from the 20th sale.
- Max: 35%, from the 40th sale.
Each sale earns the rate of the tier that its own place in the month reaches. Reaching a tier doesn't change what earlier sales earned. The count starts again on the 1st of every month.
A sale counts toward the month it becomes ready, not the month it was bought. Refunded sales, free orders and your own purchases take no place in the count.
7 Hold, refunds and chargebacks
Customers can get a full refund within 14 days of buying, or within 24 hours of activating Clipzen, whichever comes first (see the refund policy). Each commission is on hold until that window closes. After that, it's ready to be paid.
If the customer gets a refund, or asked for one in time and the request is still open, the commission is cancelled. If the request is declined, the commission comes back. A partial refund reduces the commission in proportion. A chargeback before the commission is paid cancels it in the same way.
Once a commission is part of a payout, it's final: a later refund or chargeback doesn't take it back.
8 Payouts
On the 1st of every month (UTC), we add up your commissions that are ready and not yet paid. If they come to at least $50, we send them to you. If not, they carry over to the next month until they do.
We pay in US dollars, by bank transfer to an account with an IBAN (plus a BIC outside the EU) or to a Wise email address. We send payouts ourselves, and they usually arrive within a few business days.
Add your payout details in the dashboard before your first payout, and keep them correct. If a payment bounces because the details were wrong, we'll let you know, and it goes out with the next payout once you've corrected them. We're not responsible for money sent to the details you gave us.
9 Fees and taxes
We pay the fees for sending your payout. Charges from your own bank, and the cost of converting US dollars into your currency, are yours.
Commissions are paid gross, with no tax deducted. You're responsible for declaring and paying any tax on your earnings where you live.
10 How you can promote Clipzen
You can promote Clipzen on any channel: videos, streams, podcasts, articles, newsletters, social posts, communities, coupon and deal sites, and paid ads that point to your own content or to clipzen.net with your link. Follow the rules of each platform and community you use.
You must not:
- Bid on “Clipzen”, or misspellings or variations of it, as a keyword in search ads.
- Present yourself as Clipzen, its official account or its support team, or suggest that we endorse your content.
- Make claims about Clipzen or other tools that aren't true or that you haven't checked, including prices and features.
- Send unsolicited messages or emails, or post your link as spam.
- Use fake clicks, bots, forced cookies or any other trick that credits you with sales you didn't bring.
- Promote Clipzen alongside content that is illegal, hateful or infringes someone else's rights.
11 The Clipzen name and logo
You may use the Clipzen name, and the wordmark and app icon from the brand kit in your dashboard, to promote Clipzen. Use them as they are, without changing their colours or proportions.
Don't use “Clipzen”, or anything close to it, in a domain name, an ad's display URL, an app name or a social media handle. People who look for Clipzen by name should find Clipzen itself.
The name and logo remain ours, and your permission to use them ends with your account. If we ask you to change or remove content that uses them, please do so promptly.
12 Saying that you earn a commission
Whenever you recommend Clipzen, say clearly that you're a Clipzen partner and earn a commission on sales, where your audience will see it before they click or buy. Many countries require this by law, and it's up to you to follow the rules where you and your audience are. A short line such as “I earn a commission if you buy through my link” is usually enough.
13 Your free licence
When you're approved, you get a free Clipzen licence, so you can use the app and show it honestly. It's for your own use, on one computer at a time, and you can't sell, share or transfer it. Otherwise, the terms of use apply to it like any other licence.
The licence works while you're a partner. It stops working if your account is suspended or closed.
14 Suspension and ending the partnership
If you break these terms, we may suspend your account. While it's suspended, your code stops working, new sales aren't credited to you, your free licence stops working and payouts not yet sent are held. We'll tell you why and, where the problem can be fixed, give you the chance to fix it. If we lift the suspension, everything comes back as it was.
For a serious or repeated breach, such as fraud, spam, bidding on the Clipzen name or misleading claims, we may close your account and cancel the commissions connected to the breach. Commissions you earned fairly are still paid.
We may also end the program, or your part in it, for any other reason, with 30 days' notice by email. Commissions that become ready before the end are paid as usual, even below $50.
15 Closing your account
You can leave at any time by closing your account in the dashboard's settings. Your code and your free licence stop working, and you're signed out everywhere.
Commissions that are ready when you close go out in one final payout on the next 1st, even if they come to less than $50, as long as your payout details are in place. Commissions still on hold are cancelled.
16 Your data
What we store about you as a partner, why and for how long is described in the privacy policy. We don't share buyers' personal details with partners: you see each sale's order number, date, amount, country and campaign, but never who bought it.
17 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and the date above changes when we do. If a change affects what you earn or how you're paid, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies. Commissions earned before a change keep the rules they were earned under. If you don't agree with a change, you can close your account before it applies.
18 Liability
We work to credit every sale correctly and to keep your dashboard and links running, but we can't promise that tracking will never miss a sale, for example when a buyer blocks cookies. Where the law allows, we're not liable for commissions lost that way or for indirect losses, and our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the commissions we paid you in the 12 months before the claim.
You're responsible for your content and the way you promote Clipzen, including any claims that arise from breaking these terms or the law.
Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for harm caused on purpose or through gross negligence.
19 Our relationship
You take part as an independent business or individual. You're not our employee, agent or representative, and you can't make promises or agreements on Clipzen's behalf. You pay your own costs of promoting Clipzen.
You're free to promote other products too, including competing ones, as long as what you say about Clipzen is fair and true.
20 Disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to us first: most problems can be solved by email.
